What does your per person price include?
Please make sure when discussing pricing, that you are comparing apples to apples. This may be one of the things that make it difficult to compare. You will want to understand their pricing and if they charge additional fees such as chef fees, labor, set-up, clearing, blocks of time for serving staff. Scheel’s Catering pricing is very straight forward. If for some reason an extra charge is needed, it will be discussed ahead of time – no surprises.
Are menus set, or do you have some flexibility? Can you create a custom entree or side dish?
Some caterers offer set menu options and may charge an extra fee to replace an item listed. Scheel’s catering offers custom menu planning which allows each client the ability to create the perfect menu to include must have food items and/or dietary requirements. Please note that if you do not see an item you are looking for, let’s talk about it.
Does the per-person cost include the service staff and cleanup?
This is very important. You want to make sure you understand the specific services that are included in your proposal. Unless otherwise stated, Scheel’s proposal includes the staff needed to assist in all aspects of the function including clean-up. Our goal is to deliver a memorable experience for your guests and an enjoyable experience for you from start to finish.
Who will be my contact person at my event?
Building a relationship with your caterer is an important part of the process. That being said, you will want to know who will be your contact person the day of your event. You may have been working with a catering coordinator, chef, business partner, etc. and you may have someone else leading the day of your event. At Scheel’s Catering, unless discussed up front, you will be communicating and planning directly with the owner Todd Scheel who will be at your special event.
